Can “Blockly4Thymio” work with Thymio Suite 2.0?

“Blockly4Thymio” is an application provided by a third party community developer, Okimi. As it has not been maintained for a few years, it is compatible by defult only with the older versions of Aseba (up to version 1.5.5) and of the Thymio firmware (up to version 9). Thymio robots produced after end 2019 -from series T on- will not be compatible with firmwares older than version 13.

Therefore, we’ve developed a procedure that allows you to adapt Blockly4Thymio to new firmware:

1. Download and install Aseba 1.6.1. Aseba 1.6.1 can easily be installed at the same time with Thymio Suite and does not affect its operation!

2. Download and install Blockly4Thymio.

3. Open two folders at the same time:n

   • Blockly4Thymio folder (“Your PC” -> “C:” -> “Blockly4Thymio”)

   • Aseba 1.6.1 folder (“Your PC” -> “C:” -> “Program Files (x86)” or “Program Files”).

4. In the “asebahttp” folder of Blockly4Thymio, delete the “asebahttp.exe”.

5. Copy “asebahttp.exe” that you will find in the AsebaStudio folder and past in Blockly4Thymio folder.

6. Open the Blockly4Thymio application and use it.
